A little help from my friends?
Hey guys.
I did up a really nice cover page for my Whitman verse stories but every time I try to stick it on it comes out really low res and looks crappy.
Anyone out there able to give me a bit of advice?

what program is it in?

I did it in photoshop. I have it in both jpg and photshop.

It's not really clear what you mean by 'stick it on'. Did you upload it to a filesharing site and then try to import the image?

Anyway, the problem is that you've saved the file as a jpeg- jpeg images consistently decline in quality each time you make a change and save it. If you've got the time, I'd suggest redoing the whole thing from scratch and saving it ONCE as a high-resolution PNG image.

Hope that helped!

Wait, I see you have a copy in Photoshop. See if you can save the original image in PNG, that should solve the quality issues.

I have a copy of it as the origonal photo shop document, I'll try a save as, as a PNG. it's not a fomat I've worked with a lot. I was basicly trying to drop it onto the whitman master list post as a sort of banner.

Ah, that explains it. Once you've saved the file as a PNG, upload it to flickr or photobucket (not LJ's scrapbook, which kinda blows) and then insert it as an image. I can show you the code, if you like, or you could look it up in the FAQ.

Yes please. Code would be nice :-)

Okay, here you go:

[img src="URL here" border="0" alt="put alternate text here"]

Change the square brackets to angular ones- < and >- and you should be good to go. If that doesn't work, there should be an 'Insert Image' button in your LJ update page that you can use.

Thanks. Go take a look at the Whitman main page. :-)
